WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Financial Technology Association (FTA) today announced Leigh Lytle, head of North American Policy at Plaid, as the 2023 Chair of the FTA Board of Directors.
Leigh Lytle will lead the Board at an exciting moment for the fintech industry and a time of growth for FTA as the association added seven new members in the last year. As Chair, Lytle will help guide FTA in advocating for policies that support a robust, maturing fintech industry and demonstrating how fintech is a critical driver of competition and consumer choice.
“As Americans increasingly turn to fintech apps and services to manage their financial lives, it is imperative that our public policies support a financial system that works for everyone. I am thrilled to continue my work with FTA as Board Chair and support our collective efforts to increase access and break down barriers to financial services,” said Leigh Lytle. “FTA’s work is critical in pushing for modernization of financial policies that benefit consumers, from establishing financial data rights, spurring faster payments, and expanding access to fair credit.”
“As our new Board Chair, Leigh will help us elevate the power of fintech to deliver value for consumers, small businesses, and the economy,” said Penny Lee, Chief Executive Officer of FTA. “We look forward to working with her to advocate for the fintech industry in Washington and shape the future of finance.”
Plaid’s mission is to unlock financial freedom for everyone, and the company powers thousands of apps and services used by millions of Americans to manage their financial lives. Before joining Plaid, Lytle spent more than 15 years at the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco in various executive roles. She held roles of increasing responsibility throughout the bank, including Supervision and Credit, Strategy, Data Insights, and Analytics, and, ultimately, Group Vice President of Financial Management.
FTA also announced the election of other new members of its 2023 board, including:
- Teddy Flo, Chief Legal Officer, Zest AI, as Vice Chair
- Brian Peters, Director of Public Policy, Stripe, as Secretary
- Tom Manatos, Head of Federal Affairs, Block, Inc., as Treasurer
